Bioavailability and poultry fecal excretion of phosphorus from soybean-based diets supplemented with phytase R. Bras. Zootec.
Martins,Bianca Almeida Brandão; Borgatti,Laura Maria de Oliveira; Souza,Luiz Waldemar de Oliveira; Robassini,Simi Luiza Durante Aflalo; Albuquerque,Ricardo de.
Five hundred and four 1-day-old Cobb broiler chickens were randomly allotted to 18 treatments and fed a semi-purified basal diet (4 g/kg total phosphorus) supplemented with 2 levels of supplemental P (0.5 or 1 g/kg) during 21 days to evaluate performance and bone mineralization; to assess the relative bioavailability of P (RBP) in wheat meal (WM) and roasted (RS) or extruded soybean meal (ES), with or without phytase (0 or 750 ftu/kg diet), using dicalcium phosphate (DC) as standard; and to estimate phosphorus excretion. Weight gain (WG), feed intake (FI), feed to gain ratio (FG), and tibia ash weigh (AW) were assessed. For each source, the RBP was calculated by the slope ratio method, when tibia ash weight was regressed on P ingested. Ingested and fecal P...

Brachiaria as a Cover Crop to Improve Phosphorus Use Efficiency in a No-till Oxisol Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Janegitz,Moniki Campos; Souza,Elialdo Alves de; Rosolem,Ciro Antonio.
ABSTRACT Oxidic soils are phosphorus drains in soil; hence, P availability is a limiting factor in tropical, weathered Oxidic soils. It has been shown that some brachiarias grown as cover crops may increase soil available P to subsequent crops. The objective of this study was to evaluate soil P cycling and availability, as well as the response of soybean to soluble and natural reactive phosphates as affected by ruzi grass (Urochloa ruziziensis, R. Germ. and C.M. Evrard, Crin) grown as a cover crop in a no-till system. Experimental treatments consisted of the presence or absence of ruzi grass in combination with a control (0.0 P) and soluble and reactive rock phosphate broadcast on the soil surface in the winter (80 kg ha-1 P2O5), plus three rates of P...

Forms of phosphorus in an oxisol under different soil tillage systems and cover plants in rotation with maize Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Carvalho,Arminda Moreira de; Bustamante,Mercedes Maria da Cunha; Almondes,Zayra Azeredo do Prado; Figueiredo,Cícero Célio de.
Phosphorus fractions play a key role in sustaining the productivity of acid-savanna Oxisols and are influenced by tillage practices. The aim of this study was to quantify different P forms in an Oxisol (Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo) from the central savanna region of Brazil under management systems with cover crops in maize rotation. Three cover crops (Canavalia brasiliensis, Cajanus cajan (L.), and Raphanus sativus L.) were investigated in maize rotation systems. These cover crops were compared to spontaneous vegetation. The inorganic forms NaHCO3-iP and NaOH-iP represented more than half of the total P in the samples collected at the depth of 5-10 cm during the rainy season when the maize was grown. The concentration of inorganic P of greater availability...

Organic acids production by rhizosphere microorganisms isolated from a Typic Melanudands and its effects on the inorganic phosphates solubilization Acta Agron. (Palmira)
Serna-Posso *,Eduardo José; Sánchez-de Prager,Marina; Cisneros-Rojas,Carlos Adolfo.
Abstract: It has been established that organic acid secretion by rhizosphere microorganisms is one of the mechanisms to solubilize the phosphorus (P) attached to insoluble mineral compounds in soil. This action is an important biotechnological alternative, especially in those soils where high fixation of this nutrient occurs, a very common situation in the tropics. This research evaluated the ability performed by five bacterial and five fungal isolates from Typic Melanudands soil to produce organic acids and generate available phosphorus from insoluble P sources. Given these concerns, the selected microorganisms were replicated for 7 days in liquid medium Pikovskaya (PVK) modified sources tricalcium phosphate (P-Ca), aluminum phosphate (P-Al) and iron...

Phosphorus availability of rock phosphates as compared with feed-grade phosphates for swine R. Bras. Zootec.
Souza,Luiz Waldemar de Oliveira; Moretti,Anibal de Sant'Anna; Tucci,Fernanda Marcussi; Souza,Nedilse Helena de; Leal,Paulo Ademar Martins; Anzai,Nelson Haruo.
One hundred ninety two swine were used in a trial to assess the relative bioavailability of phosphorus (RBP) in six phosphate sources. Phosphates were three feed grade phosphates (FP), two made in Brasil, and one USA made, and three rock phosphate samples (RP) originated from two mines sites in Brasil, and one mine site in Israel. Levels of calcium, phosphorus and fluorine in RP were 29, 12 and 1.7% (RP source 1), 33, 14 and 1.4% (RP source 2), and 30, 14 and 3.6% (RP source 3), respectively. Pigs were fed a corn-soybean meal basal diet (18% CP, 0.95% Lys, 0.75% Ca, 0.37% P) or the basal diet with 0.15% P from a standard purified grade calcium phosphate (SP), or with 0.15% P from experimental FP or RP. Each diet was fed to six pen replicates of four pigs...
